Our chapter offers scholarships to both young people and adults in Sussex County through two separate programs. Since the inception of the Scholarship Fund in 2007, our chapter has awarded $31,000 in scholarships. By the end of 2017, the awards will grow to $36,000.
Indian River High School
Two $1500 scholarships are awarded annually to Indian River High School seniors. Applicants are evaluated in three areas, including: academic record; extracurricular, community, and work activities; and an essay. Extra consideration is given to applicants who have or expect to overcome challenges in pursuing their education.
Applications are available to seniors in the guidance office at Indian River High School. The deadline for the 2017 applications is Tuesday, April 25. The scholarships will be awarded at the school’s annual Awards Night.
Four $500 scholarships are awarded annually to adult students enrolled at the college. One per semester is offered to nursing students and one per semester is open for any adult student.
Applicants for these scholarships must:
Be 25 years of age or older.
Hold a high school diploma or GED.
Be a resident of Sussex County.
Be enrolled at Delaware Tech.
Have earned a Cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA.
Show evidence of financial need.
